Wint is in love with Joan Caretall, whose father Amos is a big political boss. Amos fears Winthrop\u0027s power and decides to stalemate him by substituting Wint\u0027s name on the ballot for that of his father. The morning after the election, Wint awakens from a drunken stupor and finds himself the mayor. With Joan\u0027s support, Wint reforms and begins to clean up the town. Wint\u0027s actions earn the enmity of the town saloon owners who induce Hetty Morfee, an old schoolmate, to frame him with a fake paternity suit. At the crucial moment, however, Hetty admits the truth, thus clearing Wint, who is reconciled with his father and wins Joan\u0027s love.","wins":0,"nominations":0,"casts":[{"name":"Tom Moore","code":"nm0601962","characters":"Wint Chase"},{"name":"Jane Novak","code":"nm0636857","characters":"Joan Caretall"},{"name":"Andrew Robson","code":"nm0733443","characters":"Winthrop Chase"},{"name":"Willard Louis","code":"nm0521919","characters":"Amos Caretall"},{"name":"Lillian Langdon","code":"nm0486041","characters":"Mrs. Winthrop Chase"},{"name":"Ann Forrest","code":"nm0286597","characters":"Hetty Morfee"},{"name":"Philo McCullough","code":"nm0567224","characters":"Jack Routt"},{"name":"Otto Hoffman","code":"nm0389043","characters":"V.R.
