Brent finds in Drew\u0027s pocket a letter announcing the impending arrival of Drew\u0027s daughter Lorelei. Feeling an obligation to Drew, who once saved his life, Brent journeys to San Francisco to meet Lorelei, who mistakes him for her father. Brent cannot bring himself to break the bad news to her, and does not correct her false assumption. Intending to send her to finishing school, he takes her back to his ranch, where he incurs the suspicion of Bob Harding, a neighbor who covets Brent\u0027s land, and Gordon Swayne, a young engineer attracted to Lorelei. Harding discovers Brent\u0027s deception and reveals the suspicious-looking situation to Swayne. After beating Harding for his suggestion that Brent has indecent designs on Lorelei, Brent, who has fallen in love with the girl, resolves to leave the house. Lorelei, learning of Brent\u0027s charade before his departure, tells him that she loves him too, and the two are united.","wins":0,"nominations":0,"casts":[{"name":"Harry Carey","code":"nm0002503","characters":"David Brent"},{"name":"Arthur Millett","code":"nm0589596","characters":"Jim Drew"},{"name":"Charles Le Moyne","code":"nm0494485","characters":"Bob Harding"},{"name":"Frank Braidwood","code":"nm0104002","characters":"Gordon Swayne"},{"name":"Mignonne Golden","code":"nm0325473","characters":"Lorelei Drew"}],"budget":null,"lifetimeGross":null,"openingWeekendGross":null,"worldwideGross":null,"keywords":[{"text":"mistaken identity"},{"text":"san francisco california"}],"production":[{"id":"co0048238","text":"Universal Film Manufacturing Company"}],"prestigiousAwardSummary":null,"moreLikeThisTitles":[]}
